Saving Lives with Music and Medicine

Dr. Prashant Mehta is a Senior Consultant in Asian Institute of Medical sciences and a nationally and internationally acclaimed Cancer Specialist.

He specializes in medical Oncology ( treatment of cancer and bone marrow transplantation) and music. He trained in Medical oncology ( specialization in treatment of cancer from AIIMS, Delhi and have obtained the highest degree in medicine of DM from the apex institute in India in 2014.

He is the recipient of the coveted Professor GS Bhattacharya memorial award for best all rounder oncologist in India in the year 2021. On the one hand he treats his patients with medicines and on the other he tries to heal them with music. He has done musical fundraisers to collect funds for cancer patients for NGOs and the hospital.

His upcoming album ‘Dil Besabra’ will also help fund treatment of cancer patients and the revenue from streams will be used to treat many children and adults with cancer or requiring bone marrow transplants. He sings and composes music to save lives.

His initial training in music was from his gifted father Mr. Chander Mehta. He was one of the finalists in Channel V Super Singer, judged by Himesh Reshammiya and AR Rehman himself in 2003 but I pursued Medicine and music with equal passion after that. I met Kammy Kamal Kharera in 2007 and we have been working together on music and doing live shows since then He has done more than 400 live rock shows all over India and has composed music and lent his voice for short films ( Dubki by Mr. Anand Kumar of Dilli Heights fame on MPlayer) and he and Kammy have been working with prominent labels in the music industry now.
