All You Need To Know About Hepatitis

Ice candy, syrup, Jaljeera water, these things look extremely good in the warm-weather & provide coolness to body but are you aware that the ice and water used in the beverages can cause harm to your liver. Hepatitis is a disease which is caused by contaminated drinking water & eatables. Hepatitis A and E are more prevalent in the summer season.

Dr. Ramchandra Soni, HOD Gastroenterology Dept, Asian Institute of Medical Sciences said “There are 5 main hepatitis viruses, referred to as types A, B, C, D and E. Hepatitis A and E are caused by contaminated water and eating contaminated food and hepatitis B and C infection is caused by infected blood transfusions. Safe and effective vaccines are available to prevent the disease.

Common Symptoms of Hepatitis are:

Yellowing of the eyes (Jaundice)
Pale skin
Loss of appetite, Nausea, Vomiting
Joint pain, headache, body ache
Weakness, fatigue & fever

Sometimes the disease can be potentially fatal, so do not ignore the symptoms. If you find any of these symptoms, contact your doctor, so that disease is detected and treated in time. Here is some advice to avoid Hepatitis, drink boiled water after cooling, Food, beverage or fruit sold in the open should not be taken, wash hands frequently.
